Devon stood at the edge of the ridge, feet balancing precariously on the sharp rim of the cliff, unnatural black eyes idly running over the scene far below, the rest of the island mapped out before him. Strong winds buffeted his person, enough to put off any sensible human from venturing so close to the drop unprotected.
His mouth curved up in amusement at the thought. But then again… he wasn’t human, now was he?
Chuckling to himself, the male hopped forwards.
Icy winds lashed at him as his body plummeted, whipping through his hair and plastering his clothing to his body. His lean shape twisted as it fell, swinging from its feet first jump into a nose dive, smirk broadening and eyes narrowing as the ground drew closer, closer closer…
At the last possible minute huge, raven wings unfolded from his back, fanning out as he wrenched himself up, the muscles on his back screaming in protest at the abrupt end to his freefall as the wind caught him and lifted him up. Letting out a laugh of exuberation, the Airian, pumped his wings to regain height before dropping again, twirling in a spiral before banking round, gusts from his wings stirring the dirt on the ground below as he passed close, revelling in the freedom of flight.
